A quick interview on a student’s opinions through video and how easily it can be broadcasted around the world.

“Lilo’s work” is a simple example on how it reflects in ways which anyone in the world can access the video, through www.youtube.com. This allows social networking to another level, free of speech and opinions and emotions heard and seen worldwide.

An example of this is a short 3 minute video of people frm around the world singing “so sick”. This is seen as more of a cyber globalization form of art.

This is a shortfilm based on opinion and free of speech easily reached around the world,through the internet.

Its seen and shown of Angel a former student at Unitec on her views on politics and answering a series of questions.

The title of the artwork itself explains it.

What interests me about this piece is that it was created using digital media.

The colours and symbolizm is simple and straight to the point on what the artist is trying to portray. The Sakura blossoms, chinese lucky charms are also visible. Japanese Lady ( Geisha) is the main attraction in this image.

This drawing symbolizes Chinese culture adapted to the wolf.

the Yin Yang is a tradional chinese philosophy representing opposites. What i like about this drawing done by Kaless is the texture, very defined and realistic looking.

This painting is representing Japanese culture, as you can see a Geisha with an umbrella is shown. What I like about this painting is that the artist himself said ” i paint nothing fancy”.

I love rough looking paintings myself.This painting also shows loneliness and despair by the expression on the Geisha’s face, empty.

Interior design is also seen as a form of art and HaikuDesigns offers Japanese based furniture designs.

Its materials are made only from natural organic materials “eco-wood”. This interior idea was to create Kenso meaning simple furniture. HaikuDesign only aims to produce tradional Japanese themed furniture but modernizing it.

The Panda is another of China’s national icon. Why I added this painting to my exhibition is that I love the way the artist stenciled the Panda, the background being abtract to minimize distraction and to focus just on the Panda. I love the colours and randomness.

Samurai is one of Japan’s famous historical heritage. They were known as high- class warriors fighting for a reason, they were also equipped with just Japanese swords or bow and arrows.

Why I picked this drawing is due to its shading and detailed carefully. Realism drawing  is also obviously used. The armour seen on the Samurai is accurately done.

This is an abstract painting of the way Filipino’s celebrating new year. Like the Chinese, Filipino’s they like to celebrate New Year with fireworks but using bamboo stems filled with fluid.

It is tradional for there culture.What i love about this painting is that even though its quite abstract you can still see people figures and fireworks. The use of the watercolours blending excellent with the black ink.

Sushi is Japanese cuisine and is known world wide for its colours and oddness. What I like about this painting is that the colours are very bright and bold, adding a bit of shadow from the chopstick also giving a realistic effect.

Also how the way CyberPunk Kim drew the sushi from an odd angle intrigue’s me.
